Project Hybrids is a collaborative project developed by multidisciplinary media artists, Sonja Streck and Antoine Eole. Their objective is to explore thought provoking and innovative concepts in the exciting new field of hybrid art.
Project Hybrids pushes the boundaries of traditional art forms, through the experimentation of innovative techniques and materials – merging performance, audio, visual, and time-based media with the latest digital technology.
Their work explores the dystopian relationship of identity to culture and the self – how new technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) construct and inform our understanding and interpretation of the world around us.
The Evolution of Project Hybrids
The creation and implementation of Project Hybrids came about serendipitously. Both Sonja and Antoine had been posting their work through Instagram, where they inadvertently discovered each other’s works. Realizing they had similar concerns and concepts they decided to collaborate.
Sonja began taking screen shots of Antoine’s work and then manipulating and superimposing her own ideas on to his, creating a new hybrid work. Antoine did likewise. They have also collaborated on original hybrids brainstorming together on ideas.
Sonja Streck
Sonja, who originally hails from Germany, via Zurich, Switzerland and now calls Catania, Sicily, Italy her home, has a background as a traditional artist. Several years ago she decided to push the limitations of two-dimensional representation such as print and painting toward a more dynamic and fragmented digital art form.
She found that by reinterpreting her original physical works through digital transference and manipulation and then back again as prints and painting – opened up a completely new way of seeing,
Antoine Eole
Antoine Eole, originally from Paris and now living in Berlin, has a background as a composer, sound designer and sound engineer. Having worked as a freelance artist, composing music for theatre productions, films and TV series such as Zazie, Elasto Culbuto and sound design for documentaries and TV channels such as Arte, MTV, France TV, and the Disney Channel.
He co-founded the electro rock band, ‘Bad Pilot’ which released three albums and performed everywhere throughout Europe.
Today his audiovisual project, in da Woods explores cinematic soundscapes with the raw edge of experimental and future garage music, blended to digital visual creations.

Human Emotion in the Age of Hybrids (The Exhibition)
Their new upcoming exhibition ‘Human Emotion in the Age of AI‘ is conceived as a rich, multidisciplinary experience, blending painting, photography, multimedia art, music, and visual projection to explore the intersections of these diverse forms of expression.
Each medium is presented in dialogue with the others, creating a journey that engages multiple senses and encourages visitors to reflect on the relationships between static and dynamic art forms.
